Karen Cazel
Silversmith
Robertsdale, Alabama Karen had been creating jewelry since about 1970. She started simply,
and has used books as her teachers. Karen likes to feel that her jewelry
pieces are small sculptures or art you can wear, and she thinks of them
as little treasures. As she roams around, her mind is always “on”, and
anything can be an inspiration- the shape of a leaf, a chip in the
sidewalk, the curve of a branch; the world is full of inspiration. When
she constructs her pieces, they have to “feel” right before she
considers them finished. Her pieces are make of many components: silver,
copper, beach stones, shell pieces; the possibilities are endless. |
